About

Hi there! I’m Steph, a family photographer based in Oakville, Ontario.

My photography journey began in 2011, but my love for images has been a part of me for much longer—both in front of and behind the lens. I honed my skills at Toronto Metropolitan University, where I learned to play with light and master my camera. Natural light is my favourite medium; the more authentic and true to life, the better. A little grain never hurt anybody!

As a proud mom to an amazing 7-year-old son, I’ve found that my greatest inspiration comes from watching him grow. Capturing the fleeting moments of childhood is a true privilege, and I cherish the opportunity to preserve those memories through photography.

I’m passionate about documenting love in all its forms—whether it's the bond between two people, the warmth of a family, or the laughter shared among friends. My goal is to create timeless images that you’ll cherish and display proudly in your home for years to come.

My approach focuses on genuine moments as they unfold. I believe authentic smiles are so much better when they’re not forced. I strive to melt away the stress of being photographed with a good laugh, inviting you to take a breath and enjoy your time together. I’ll capture you as you are—natural, relaxed, and full of life.

What does “aster + abode” mean?

An aster is a flowering plant and the birth month flower of September. My son was born in September and since he’s one of the best parts of my life I wanted to incorporate a piece of him within my business name.

Abode is, of course, home. I’m a homebody by nature and I believe who you share your home with is more your “home” than the physical structure you live within. When choosing a name I wanted to express what is important to me, but more importantly, what’s meaningful to you, my client.

If this resonates with you, I think we’ll get along great!
